Command Syntax

ArchiveManager operations are executed with a command line. The command syntax is comprised of the command (diet) and the command parameters. To run ArchiveManager, one of the following five required parameters must be declared: import, export, purge, archive, or generate. This section describes the five required parameters and other parameters that alter how ArchiveManager operates.

The sample command syntax in this section assumes the following:

• The user and database information is stored in the clarify.env file. See the Entering User and Database Information section for more information.
• A UNIX version of ArchiveManager is being used, which means command lines start with 'diet'. If using the Microsoft version of ArchiveManager, start command lines with 'diet.exe'.
