Columns marked as BINARY (isBinaryData=true) are typically not used within the Clarify schema. They are artifacts from early Clarify releases.
Examples of binary columns:
Dovetail SchemaEditor will not export binary columns from the database when exporting the schema.
Existing binary columns that already exist in the database will be left untouched.
