Recommended Internet Explorer Settings

Dovetail Agent must be used with Internet Explorer Version 7 or later.

We recommend the following Internet Explorer settings. You can deploy these IE settings either individually on each machine or at the server level by using Group Policy.

1. Allow pop-ups for Dovetail Agent
   From Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Pop-up Blocker Settings and add your Dovetail Agent URL to the list of allowed sites.
2. Add Dovetail Agent to your list of local intranet sites
   Go to Tools > Internet Options and select the Security tab. Then select Local intranet > Sites > Advanced. Enter the Dovetail Agent URL and click Add.
3. Enable these security settings
   Go to Tools > Internet Options and select the Security tab. Then select Local intranet > Custom Level. Enable the following settings:
   1. Under "ActiveX controls and plug-ins," enable the following:
      • Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting
      • Initialize and script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting
      • Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
   2. Under "Miscellaneous," enable the following:
      • Allow websites to open windows without address or status bar
4. Configure any other third-party pop-up blockers so that they allow popups in Dovetail Agent
