From the Part Request Order Processing form, choose the Receive tab.
To add a part row to the left side of the grid, use the top left dropdown list to select Add New Row.
Select Go. With the new row added, incoming part information can be entered.
Enter the serial number and quantity for the incoming part in the text boxes provided on the new row.
In the Status column, select the status of the part being returned: Good or Bad.
To choose the To Location, click inside either the To Loc or To Bin columns on the part row.
With the check button that populates, select and/or verify the correct inventory location. When the check box is clicked, the Select GL Accounts and Locations form opens. Both locations and bins can be selected with this form. Once a location or bin is found, select it in the list. Click Use/Done, or double-click the row to use it on the Receive tab.
To select a From Location, use the check button in the From Loc/Bin/ID field. This will open the Select GL Accounts and Locations form as described in step 6.
When the part information has been completed for each row, click the Receive or Receive All button to add the incoming part to the right-side grid. This process will enable the Save button. Parts that are shown in the right-side grid can be selected and removed from that grid. This allows corrections to be made before the Receive action is completed. Now the bottom of the Receive tab can be filled in to complete the details for the action.
Using the Status dropdown list, specify a status.
Note: This is a user-definable list.
(Optional) In the Carrier field, enter a carrier for the shipment, or click the check button to select a carrier using the Select Site form.
In the Waybill field, enter the waybill number.
With the Receiving Issues checkboxes, select the one that applies:
Route to Test: Check this to route the incoming part to a testing location.
Unit Damage: Check this to indicate possible shipping damage has occurred.
Packaging Problem: Check this to indicate that the part was not properly packaged.
Select Save. This completes the Receive action, creating part transactions, and receiving inventory from one location to another. At the same time, Dovetail Logistics debits one GL account and credits another.
