The Mark Contacts for Merge form is the control panel for the alias marking. With this form, a Dovetail Agent user can perform the following tasks:
Select candidate contacts using attribute filtering. The user may filter the contact candidates by contact first name, last name, contact phone number, site id and site name. A contact will be filtered out if the contact is already marked as a master or alias for another contact or is marked as obsolete.
Mark candidate contacts as a master or alias for a master contact.
Unmark existing master or alias contacts from a master.
Select a "master" contact from the current list of master contact candidates. Upon selection of a master contact, any alias contacts previously marked for that contact will be listed.
The Mark Contacts for Merge form can be launched from the Select Contact form. Should you wish to limit invocation of the alias marking and previewing, this can be done via the Merge Contact privilege class.
