If an outgoing email Communication is still pending after 8 hours, then Dovetail Rulemanager fires the 2nd action of the Deliver Email Communication rule. This rule calls the EmailDeliveryFailed.bat file. EmailDeliveryFailed.bat sets the delivery status of the Communication to Failed.
EmailDeliveryFailed.bat is included with the Communications Extension as part of the Dovetail Carrier installation.
Refer to the ReadMe.txt file within the EmailDeliveryFailed directory for more details.
Note: The EmailDeliveryFailed.bat file is a wrapper around a PowerShell script. This means that PowerShell is required to be installed on the machine that executes this script (typically the server where Rulemanager is running).
