Part Requests now have Spares Management functionality available. The Pick, Fulfill, Ship, and Receive actions can now be performed from Dovetail Agent. The Clarify Classic Client functionality in these areas has been closely matched, allowing the entire process to be handled in the thin client environment. Please refer to the Dovetail Logistics section of this document for more details.
Part Requests also now have Depot Repair functionality available, allowing users to create and update depot repair records, including adding labor and material entries. ECOs can also be applied to a depot repair entry. In addition, ECOs can be created and modified.
Both the Spares Manager and Depot Repair functionality in version 3.5 are provided in beta form. While these functions are supplied and do work, there may be some issues with behavior. It should be understood by customers that these functions are currently undergoing significant testing and may be undergoing changes before final release, which is scheduled for the next version of Dovetail Agent.
There is a new History tab on the case page which will dynamically build the case history from the activity log.
The main console now has support for a preview pane. This preview pane can be turned on or off in the user profile.
There is a new "Window Manager" built into Dovetail Agent. From the console, you can view and front any open window. You can choose to close all open windows. In addition, upon logging out, all open windows will be automatically closed.
This version now supports the ability to perform a Log Phone Call operation on a contact. In addition, you can view the Log History of a contact, which includes phone logs and email logs for the contact. Also, you may now (for cases and subcases) change the contact for a phone log by pressing the Contact button on the page.
The site page has been greatly enhanced. You may now view and modify the support info like the Clarify Classic Client, with features such as support site, primary and secondary user, and region/district. The site page also includes a contract tab that will allow you to view the entitlement contracts for the site, and drill down to view the contract's details.
If you are running ClearContracts, the case page will now display the contract information for a ClearContracts contract. In addition, pressing the Contract button on the Prod/Contr tab will display the ClearContracts select Contract page.
The site page now includes a new tab for the site configuration. This view displays all bins and/or site_parts for the site in a treeview control. You may expand or collapse any part of the tree, and you can drill down to view either the bin or site_part details.
There is now a general activity log drill-down available, allowing you to see the details of any activity log.
The find_caller operation (for both cases and interactions) has been slightly modified to closer mimic the behavior of the Clarify Classic Client. The site_id filter is now an equals (exact match) operation, instead of the previous "starts with."
The Queries Print To File operation now allows for TAB delimited output. To use this option, simply enter the word "TAB" in the delimiter text box, and generate the output. The output file will have TAB characters between the fields on each line.
The Main Console now allows for dynamic column sorting without reloading the page from the server. This method is much faster because no database round-trips are involved, and it can be used on any column of the table.
On the contact page, there is a Web User button that allows you to create, modify, and delete web_user records for a contact.
There is a new configuration item available - fc_eeo_alt_replyto. This configuration item will set the reply-to address on all outgoing EEO (Enhanced Email Out) emails. For example, if you want all email replies to be sent to your company's support email address, set this config item to "support@mycompany.com".
There is a new configuration item available - fc_console_maxrecords. This configuration item will limit the number of each item type that is displayed in the console.
There is a new configuration item available - fc_delete_old_messages. Dovetail Agent can automatically delete old Notifier messages upon login. The fc_delete_old_messages config item defines how old messages need to be (in days) before they are deleted.
There is a new script available that allows you to update the Dovetail Agent cache using a script. Refer to the Dovetail Agent Cache Updates section of this document for more details.
