Dovetail Agent includes powerful search capabilities. The underlying search engine is Dovetail Seeker. Dovetail Seeker can search your Dovetail CRM data using a powerful and familiar Google-like search interface. Using the power of Lucene, an open source high performance search library, Seeker lets you quickly index exactly the data you want to search for in Dovetail CRM.
1. Install Dovetail Seeker
You must install and configure the Dovetail Seeker application, and run the Seek application which will index exactly the data you want to search for in your Dovetail CRM. Refer to the Dovetail Seeker documentation for specific instructions.
2. Modify the $DovetailAgent/pages/config.asp file, setting the baseDovetailSearchURL variable so that it has the proper URL of the Dovetail Seeker web application.
3. Grant the Search privilege to the appropriate privilege classes using Dovetail Admin.
