Begin the installation by extracting the contents of the Dovetail SchemaEditor ZIP file into a temporary folder. Run the MSI installation process by double-clicking on the Dovetail SchemaEditor.msi file.
The installation will then proceed through a series of steps or screens which will either provide information about the installation process, or request information necessary to install Dovetail SchemaEditor.
Edit the SchemaEditor file
Once the MSI installation package has completed, you must edit the SchemaEditor file for Dovetail SchemaEditor. You must manually generate this file, as specified in the .SchemaEditor files section prior to editing. The default SchemaEditor file is named Default.SchemaEditor and is generated in the installation directory (typically C:\Program Files\Dovetail Software\Dovetail SchemaEditor).
Install the license
You should have received a license file (*.fclic) for Dovetail SchemaEditor either with your distribution or separately. If you have not received a license for Dovetail SchemaEditor, please contact us to obtain one.
To install your Dovetail SchemaEditor license, copy the license file to the Dovetail SchemaEditor install directory. By default, the install directory will be C:\Program Files\Dovetail Software\Dovetail SchemaEditor\
Dovetail SchemaEditor will simply read and validate the license from the license file.
