Console Auto-Refresh

Dovetail Agent's auto-refresh functionality is very useful in large implementations where other users will be adding, removing, or moving objects constantly. By auto-refreshing, the console displays the most current information, such as the objects in a queue. By default, Dovetail Agent refreshes the console every two minutes.

Note: Auto-refresh uses up additional resources on your database server, because it will occasionally query the database for information about Wipbins and Queues. Most users find, however, that this small overhead is worth the benefit.

To change the auto-refresh rate

  1. Open the Refresh Metatag in the console_main.asp page.
  2. Enter, in seconds, how often the console should refresh. If you do not want the console to refresh, set this value to 0.

    Important: We recommend that you do not make this value too small. Having a significantly short auto-refresh rate will cause each session to refresh constantly, which can slow down your database due to the large number of SQL queries.
