The Dovetail Email Agent installer defaults the Dovetail Email Agent service to run under the operating systems predefined local service account. For example, this account is named "NetworkService" on Windows Server 2003. Some Dovetail Email Agent features may require more privileges than this account provides. For improved security, you may want to create a new account and grant the necessary permissions to that account.
This account should have the following privileges:
Read and execute access to the Dovetail Email Agent install directory (typically C:\Program Files\Dovetail Software\Email Agent)
If saving attachments to a network share, permissions to access the network and read/write access to the attachments directory.
If logging or enabling EmailTracking, read/write write permissions to the folder where the log files will be created as well as to a folder configured to receive the EmailTracking emails.
Any other permissions to folders or files used by the software. For example:
Read/Execute access to the .NET Framework Runtime assemblies
For Oracle users, read/execute access to the Oracle client bin folder
