Enhancements

• Search - Allows you to search your Dovetail CRM data using a powerful and familiar Google-like search interface.
• Announcements - The ability to broadcast an announcement to Dovetail Agent users.
• Simplified Linking of Solutions to Cases - On the Solution page, there is a "Link this solution to a case" button, which simplifies the ability to link a solution to one or more cases.
• Parent-child cases functionality has been added.
• The case history now includes attachment activities (add attachment, delete attachment).
• The user Profile page now has a Contact tab which allows the user to enter personal contact information and notification preferences.
• The About page and the My Commitments page are now opened in the console, as opposed to a new window.
• Added a Sharing link to the case page and to the Solution page, making it easy to share a link to these objects.
• The console refresh rate is now a user-configurable setting on the Profile page.
• The jQuery Javascript library is included, allowing simpler and more powerful customization capabilities.

Bug Fixes

• fcQuery: fixed a date conversion error occurring on Oracle systems when running a query with a changeable date parameter. If the date parameter was formatted as mm/dd/yyyy an error would occur.
• Console: The console was not always being updated after a completed work flow action.

Upgrading to Version 4.0

1. Install the latest version of the Dovetail SDK.
2. (optional) – Install Dovetail Seeker (Search)

   To set up Search, you must install and configure the Dovetail Seeker application, and run the Seek Indexer which will index the data you want to search for in your Dovetail CRM.

   Refer to the Dovetail Seeker documentation for specific instructions for setting , but the set up must include the following:

   1. Modify the $DovetailAgent/pages/config.asp file, setting the baseDovetailSearchURL variable so that it has the proper URL of the Dovetail Seeker web application.
   2. Grant the Search privilege to the appropriate privilege classes.
3. Import the following data files into the system with Dataex or Dovetail Archive Manager:
   • agent_support_data.dat (Privileges for Parent-Child Cases)
   • agent_basic_data.dat (Privileges for Search)
4. Using Dovetail Admin, give the appropriate permissions for Search and Parent-Child Cases.
5. To install the updates and the new files included with this release, copy all of the files under the \pages directory to the system.
6. Edit the fc.env file for your environment.
7. Merge in any of your customizations with the new baseline pages.
