Queries is a part of Dovetail Agent that allows users to create, save, modify, iconify, and execute queries on any object in the Clarify system. For example, users can create queries for contacts, opportunities, sites, accounts, parts, site parts, and quotes. The Queries also support features such as the ad-hoc query form, parameterized clauses, shared/personal queries, and iconified queries.
Other Queries features include:
The ability to execute a query against any Clarify database. With this, users can have a query database that is a mirror of the production database. Queries would be run against the other database, but any objects opened up would be in the Clarify-connected database.
The ability to select any number of output columns, from any related table, not just from the base table.
The ability to use outer joins.
Parameterized queries that remember the last value each user entered for each parameter. The value of each parameterized clause does not have to be changed each time the query is run.
Two levels of query sorting.
A user can view some or all of the queries with a select query feature.
The administrator can add, modify, and delete query properties without using SQL or dataex.
The ability to associate user-defined lists to properties and application lists. By adding a new user-defined list, users can be presented with a list of likely values.
