Start Dovetail Carrier

After Dovetail Carrier has been installed and configured, the Windows Service can be started. By default, after the service is installed, it is not started.

Start the service

In order for Dovetail Carrier to begin processing, the service must be started. To start the service:

If it fails to start, you will be prompted with a generic error messages from Windows. Consult the Windows Event Viewer to get more information about why Dovetail Carrier failed to start. The log file may also provide more information. The log file will typically be in the logs directory within the installation directory (typically C:\Program Files\Dovetail Software\Carrier\carrierservice\logs).

Running Dovetail Carrier from the command line

Dovetail Carrier can also be run as a command line application. This is useful for testing, but is not recommended for production use.

To start Dovetail Carrier from the command line, open a DOS command prompt, navigate to the carrierservice directory under the Dovetail Carrier installation directory, and type: DovetailCarrierService.exe
